I do not think of all the misery, but of the glory that remains. Go outside into the fields, nature and the sun, go out and seek happiness in yourself and in God. Think of the beauty that again and again discharges itself within and without you and be happy.
As most of you know tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day here in the United States. It is a national holiday, a day that provides us the opportunity to review our blessings and good fortune and to be grateful for all we have. It may be difficult for some to look beyond their troubles during these trying times to see that in most cases as difficult that life can be we survive and enjoy the basics everyday. I know in my case my health has been challenging on more than one occasion this year creating lengthy hospital stays with extended periods of recovery, yet they have not resulted in permanent damage and just getting through them is in itself worthy of my gratitude.
We, like so many others don’t have as much as we did a few years ago, but we have enough. As I count my blessings I realize that this year I made even more special friends which is worth more than almost anything else in life. I also have the great good fortune of having healthy, thriving children and grandchildren close by who enrich my life on a regular basis. Yes the challenges have been great but overcoming them has been exhilarating. I have had the good fortune this year to learn more than in most years of my life which has allowed me to see things I missed far too often in the past. While this year has included the loss of some respected friends I know they lived full lives and I am grateful that they were part of my life.
I find that it helps me to recognize all I have been given on a regular basis; just stopping to take inventory of the good things is enough for me to realize just how great my life really is. For me Thanksgiving allows me to store the previous twelve months in my memory as I prepare to start again to play on life’s stage for another year collecting good friends and pleasant memories.
I hope you don’t mind if I applaud your performance once in awhile for each of you adds luster to my day as I send off our Daily. I won’t send you one tomorrow as I’ll be with most of my family enjoying the traditional Thanksgiving feast.
So Happy Thanksgiving one and all and let me wish you the very best for tomorrow and beyond.

Eleven Step Guide to Being Handy Around the House
1. If you can't find a screwdriver, use a knife. If you break off the tip, it's an improved screwdriver.
2. Try to work alone. An audience is rarely any help.
3. Despite what you may have been told by your mother, praying and cursing are both helpful in home repair ……. but only if you are working alone.
4. Work in the kitchen whenever you can ...many fine tools are there, its warm and dry, and you are close to the refrigerator.
5. If it's electronic, get a new one ...or consult a ten-year-old.
6. Stay simple minded: Get a new battery; replace the bulb or fuse; see if the tank is empty; try turning it to the 'on' switch; or just paint over it.
7. Always take credit for miracles. If you dropped the alarm clock while taking it apart and it suddenly starts working, you have healed it.
8. Regardless of what people say, kicking, pounding, and throwing sometimes DOES help.
9. If something looks level, it is level.
10. If at first you don't succeed, redefine success.
11. Above all, if what you've done is stupid, but it works, then it isn't stupid.
If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.
A guy once wandered into a Jewish restaurant and ordered roast chicken. It arrived complete with potatoes and a few sundries, and the diner looked at it without much favor. He said to the waiter, "Don't I get a green vegetable?"
And the waiter said, "And what color is the pickle? Purple?"
Good judgment comes from experience, and often experience comes from bad judgment.
Rita Mae Brown
A Mom and Dad went to a restaurant one evening. Dad was about halfway finishing his meal when took a hard look at the potato.
He called the waitress and said, "This potato is bad."
The waitress picked it up, smacked it, and put it back on the plate, then said,
“If that potato causes any more trouble just let me know.”
An optimist is a person who starts a new diet on Thanksgiving Day.
I have a spelling checker,
It came with my PC;
It plainly marks four my revue,
Mistakes I cannot sea.
I've run this poem threw it,
I'm sure your please to no,
Its letter perfect in it's weigh,

"I like life. It's something to do."
One day, a mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, chemical engineer, and computer engineer were driving down the street in the same car when it broke down.
The mechanical engineer said, "I think a rod broke."
The chemical engineer said, "The way it sputtered at the end, I think it's not getting enough gas."
The electrical engineer said, "I think there was a spark and something's wrong with the electrical system."
All three turned to the computer engineer and said, "What do you think?"
The computer engineer said, "I think we should all get out and then get back in."
We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Coming through the door after school one day, Little Johnny hollers out, "Okay, everyone in the house, please be advised that I, Little Johnny, have on this date made a complete fool of myself in sex education class by repeating stories concerning storks as told to me by certain parties residing in this house!"
As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them.
John Fitzgerald Kennedy
