The Social Media tidal wave is gaining momentum, are you prepared?

Nothing splendid has ever been achieved except by those who dared believe that something inside them was superior to circumstance.

I had another of those fully loaded days yesterday that started at 4:30 am and did not end until late afternoon and today will be more of the same. I have an early blood draw and then I am off for a day that will not let me return until later this evening. I am sure you already know what that means, Ray has writers block and so he is once again and returning to yesteryear for today’s Daily.

Why do so many of us spend our time and money ornamenting ourselves in order to create an impressive image in the eyes of others? Is it insecurity? It is as if we think a better car, a tailored suit, a bigger diamond transforms us into something other than ourselves. Real beauty rests below the surface; it is the product of how we feel, how we act, and our love of ourselves and others. I think we all would be better off if we did not spend our lives masquerading as someone else. Investing in ourselves does not require material wealth it just requires zest and love of life.

Someone wise has written how we might enhance our inner beauty, here is what he said:

May you find serenity and tranquility in a world you may not always understand. May the pain you have known and the conflict you have experienced give you the strength to walk through life facing each new situation with courage and optimism. Always know that there are those whose love and understanding will always be there, even when you feel most alone. May you discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace. May a kind word, a reassuring touch, and a warm smile be yours every day of your life, and may you give these gifts as well as receive them. Remember the sunshine when the storm seems unending.

Teach love to those who hate, and let that love embrace you as you go out into the world. May the teachings of those you admire become part of you, so that you may call upon them. Remember, those whose lives you have touched and whose have touched yours are always a part of you, even if the encounters were less than you would have wished. It is the content of the encounter that is more important than the form.

May you not become too concerned with material matters, but instead place immeasurable value on the goodness in your heart. Find time each day to see beauty and love in the world around you. Realize that each person has limitless abilities, but each of us is different in our own way. What you feel you lack in the present may become one of your strengths in the future. May you see your future as one filled with promise and possibility. Learn to view everything as a worthwhile experience. May you find enough inner strength to determine your own worth by yourself, and not be dependent on another's judgment of your accomplishments. May you always feel loved.

There was a barber that thought that he should share his faith with his customers more than he had been doing lately. So the next morning when the sun came up and the barber got up out of bed he said, "Today I am going to witness to the first man that walks through my door."

Soon after he opened his shop the first man came in and said, "I want a shave!"

The barber said, "Sure, just sit in the seat and I'll be with you in a moment."

The barber went in the back and prayed a quick desperate prayer saying, "God, the first customer came in and I'm going to witness to him. So please give me the wisdom to know just the right thing to say to him. Amen."

Then quickly the barber came out with his razor knife in one hand and a Bible in the other while saying, "Good morning sir. I have a question for you..........Are you ready to die?"

You're getting old when you wake up with that morning-after feeling, and you didn't do anything the night before.

Rita wanted her husband to stop smoking so she sent him to the doctor. The doctor gave him a box of these patches and said to use one a day. He said ok, and took them home. Rita asked him what the doctor said and he showed her the patches and told her that the doctor said to use one a patch day. Rita commenced to sew one patch on each shirt he had. The both of them are still trying to figure out how that's going to help him quit smoking.

To make mistakes is human; to stumble is commonplace; to be able to laugh at yourself is maturity.

My mother wanted me to be a priest. Can you imagine giving up your sex life and then once a week people come in to tell you the details and highlights of theirs?

COMMISSION: The only reliable way to make money on the stock market, which is why your broker charges you one.

YAK: What you do into a pail when you discover your stocks have plunged and your broker is making a margin call.
