And what is Stumble Upon and how do I get involved in that as well as Twitter? I thought Twitter was only for text messages??!!?? Am I correct on that one because I can not pay for those texts?

I need to sit down with patric welch and figure out how to work these tools efficiently. I know the theory and the correct tools to use, I just need to work though getting them to feed to Stark Reality. I'm working on it, Kristie.

You can choose not to send tweets to your cell phone via sms--- am I impressing you with my techie vocabulary? Social Media should always be free. I'm off to bed.

Yes, Jeff. . .She has a very important class to teach tomorrow morning.

Yes, Amy, you are impressing me with your vocabulary!! I guess maybe I should check it out. I do not know how much more time I have to check out the social media stuff but I will at least try.

One fast answer Kristie, we are actively approaching select people to cross post/cross blog (if there is such a term.) Still getting into that but for example, we ask them to post relevant stuff on our blog 1:1 for us posting relevant info on theirs. Marketing, design, advertising, management, etc. type topics.

Thanks Jeff. Just working on the computer tonight, as usual.

How is the cross post/cross blog working for you? Are you able to track your traffic daily? If so, is it working by adding more traffic? Do you think it is important to add to your blog daily?. . . weekly? . . .biweekly? . . . . monthly?

It's working slowly, probably partially my fault and partially from our post partners. ( I would also like more intra-company posting, but that is also very slow in coming.)
I am sure I could track traffic, but that falls under that category of things that I choose not to spend time on. Believe it or not, there are things that I don't want to know how to do. ( I can hear certain marketing people, including some of my marketing profs, rolling over about now.)
My goal is to have something added every 2-4 days, but we are not there yet.

Are you contributing on your partners sites? This might give them the little kick they might need to reciprocate.
The tracking is very east to do especially since you have a wordpress account. You just need to log in and click on your stats. It will even show you a nice graph for a quick visual. This is something that I would think would be very east to learn and should fall under that category.:)

If you are not tracking the traffic then why worry about building it?

Sort of like watching the stock market, put your money in on a regular basis but don't look at it every day. Since I can track historical numbers any time I want, I'll check them after 3-4 months to see how the input is doing.

This is a very tame controversial conversation =) You should know, however, that the activity tracker is on my main page. Each time you post, your pic appears on the main page along with your name. Google algorithms love changing content. Do each of you have a google alert set up to let you know when your name appears on the net somewhere? I would also suggest setting up a google alert for pertinent words and phrases that you need to keep on top of, like the name of your businesses. =)
