The Social Media tidal wave is gaining momentum, are you prepared?

Am I the only one who didn’t know we had a new Internet term called Malwebolence? I know nothing of the article’s source -- IWon News--which appears to be a news aggregator of sorts.

This NYTimes article is an expose of the dark underbelly of the Internet. No wonder organizations are afraid of social-media. The story is very interesting but I was struck by the main visual chosen.

There was a prominent picture of a typical Internet Troller, and you can’t miss the Vendetta Mask in the background-- disclaimer -- the entirety of my knowledge about this mask comes from the movie because I like Natalie Portman. Visual images that evoke feelings and inspire actions have always been vital to the evolution of our species. A powerful visual contains an entire story.

That is one reason I’m excited to attend Elegant Funk tonight at Wug Laku's studio. I look forward to being inspired by the visual symbols of an artist’s passion. It’s a rare treat to learn the stories behind each piece directly from the artist. I also look forward to hangin’ out with the Smaller Indiana crowd, because I always learn and gain energy from Smoosiers. I hope to see you there.

P.S. During the time it took me to write this blog, the story jumped from 37 comments to 195, and from 88 diggs to over 500! WOW

Last month I made a prediction that we might see fundraisers with FourSquare or some other location-based mobile social network with gaming element. Looks like my observation of fundraising 2.0 trends of 2009 and my 2010 predictions are right on....
